robots with actuated toes

StaccaToe and PresToe — legged and humanoid robots that mimic the human foot and toe.

Human feet use an articulated toe to extend push-off and manage balance. We build robots that do the same: StaccaToe, a single-leg hopping robot with an actuated toe that mimics the human leg, and PresToe, a humanoid with actuated toes. These platforms let us study how toe actuation changes the control problem for dynamic balancing and push-off.
